- Relevant professional training will include: First level nursing qualification/registration RMN or RSCN or HV with related CAMHS experience or any as below: ? First level qualification in Occupational therapy, Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Social work, or equivalent with related CAMHS experience. ? Qualification as a Systemic Psychotherapist (Family Therapist) with relevant CAMHS experience. ? First level qualification in art, play, drama, music therapy or psychotherapy (leading to a registered qualification with one of the above statutory bodies) with related experience in the psychological aspects of caring for children and adolescent with mental health problems/needs.
- Further post qualifying training and education in working with children and adolescents with mental health problems.
- ENB 998 or mentorship and or equivalent experience and training (Nursing only)
- Training in Clinical supervision
- Assessed supervised clinical experience working with children and adolescents with mental health problems/needs or clear evidence of transferable skills.
- Working in collaboration with supervisor, service user, carers and MDT in assessing needs, planning and implementing care Taking responsibility for care delivery in a specific area and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment
- A good understanding and some experience of the following: Group, individual and family work, multi-disciplinary work, clinical governance and audit and the process of clinical supervision in CAMHS,
- Working with families in a multi-racial urban environment Working with Looked After Children and foster carers
- A good working knowledge of the following: Mental health disorders in children and adolescents
- Difficulties common to Looked After Children e.g. attachment difficultiesKey legislation relevant to CAMHS setting: The Children Act 1989, 2004 and The Mental Health Act 1983, Human Rights Act 1998 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 London Child protection procedures Assessment of risk and management of risk factors The principles of clinical governance and practice. - Relevant research and its application to assessment, treatment and case management of CAMH disorders. Research informed and evidence based methods of assessment, treatment and case management.
- Ability to work therapeutically with the client group, using a range of therapeutic interventions
- Ability to work under pressure. Ability to take on new concepts/forward thinking
- Good written and verbal presentation skills Basic IT and data entry skills to enter clinical information into databases.

Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in the setting and reviewing of therapeutic aims, objectives, standards and strategies to provide a high standard of careto clients.

To collect & collate information about individual clinical activity on ePJS.Work with the team and clients to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

Contribute to the effective functioning of the team and service through attendance at relevant meetings, taking responsibilities within the service as appropriate and negotiated with the line manager.
Supervise junior members of the team (Band or trainees from any discipline.
Assume responsibility for own case list and case management of children, adolescents and families who are determined to be at low/medium/high risk.
Work in the community settings including specify here e.g. schools, primary care, hospitals, clinic base or Childrens centre but to regularly visit Children, Young people and their families at home or in other satellite or statutory agency areas as required.
Make a clinical formulation from a standard CAMH assessment, including risk assessment, on which to recommend a treatment intervention.
Design, write and share a copy of the care plan with children, young people and their carers.
Carry out the planned intervention with minimal supervision.
