    Description

    Purpose

    Towork alongside the Practice Manager in maintaining a high qualitycomprehensive service of care to both patients and Consultantswithin the Clinic. To work with the Head of Nursing in ensuringclinical standards remain a key focus in line with CQC requirementsby monitoring assessing escalating and implementing improvementswhere and when necessary.

    MainResponsibilities

    Planand prepare for all Dermatology clinics held throughout the week inadvance of need

    Assisting Dermatologists andSurgeons with a range of specialised procedures such as generaldermatology and skin care surgery

    Plan andorganise the workload of clinical staff to support the clinicsufficiently in line with capability skill andavailability

    Work alongside the Practice Managerto undertake audits and embed necessary compliancemeasures

    Identify and enable opportunity todevelop nurseled followup services

    Ensurecompliance with NICE Guidelines and TDP Policies &Procedures by all clinical staff

    Promote the TDPVision and Values amongst staff to promote a positive patientfocusses culture within the clinic

    Supportpatient understanding through the provision of education andresources to patients their families and staff

    Engage with new technology and practices promoting this amongst theteam in the drive to improve patientservices


    ClinicalResponsibilities

    Perform allaspects of relevant nursing care for patients includingdressing/bandaging techniques and the removal ofsutures/clips

    Support the patient throughouttheir visit ensuring safe and effective care from start tofinish

    Ensure patients and carers have receivedsufficient and relevant verbal and writteninformation

    Educate each patient on how toprotect their skin prevent illnesses and care for skindiseases/conditions at home

    Assist and chaperonepatients whilst clinical examinations/procedures are beingundertaken

    Assist medical staff with fine needleaspirations core biopsies and take responsibility for thecollection/labelling of specimens

    Ensure highstandards of care in various Nurseled followup clinics includingphototherapy cryotherapy acne clinics PRP and related clinics patchtesting and assisting in minor surgery

    Preparespecific equipment required within the Department prior to clinicalprocedures.

    Act as patient advocate and alwaysensure patient satisfaction

    Assist in creating asupportive and caring environment

    Promoting highstandards of clinical care to all our patients

    Check referral letters results and xrays are available for clinicalsessions

    PersonnelManagement

    Supervise anddemonstrate procedures to junior staff qualified andunqualified

    Assist in the mentoring and teachingof student nurses bank nurses and HCAs within theClinic

    Enhance quality of care by assisting withthe management of change in nursing practice based onevidence/research

    Manage the activities of allNurse staff ensuring that an effective service isprovided

    Promote holistic patient care throughmultidisciplinary engagement and team working

    Provide strong visible and accessible leadership to yourteam

    Actively promote the clinics culture withstaff and with external bodies

    Alongside thePractice Manager ensure staff receive annual appraisal regular 11interaction and staff meetings plan and organise regular auditswith team training refresher training and inductions with thePractice Manager

    Provide clinical supervisionand guidance at regular intervals and where necessary / ifrequired

    Systemsand Equipment

    Record biographicaldetails of individuals in manual and computerisedrecords

    Prepare specific equipment requiredwithin the department prior to clinical procedures usingdecontamination techniques prior to mandatory safetychecks

    Maintain monitor control and order stockand equipment within the department reporting any deficit ormaintenance required

    Prepare clinical area anddepartment prior to start ofclinic.

    ClinicalGovernance

    At all times ensureHealth and Safety Standards are adhered to by all clinical staff inaccordance with TDP Policy

    Ensure you arefamiliar with and uphold TDP Policies in particular those relatingto patient safety Incident Reporting Safeguarding Equality& Diversity IP&C

    Ensureprocesses facilities and services are in keeping with CQCrequirements and any identified concerns are escalatedaccordingly

    Responsible for clinical incidentreporting as per Company policies

    At all timespromote and ensure Infection Prevention & Control Policy isbeing adhered to high standard

    Continuallymonitor and review the work environment to ensure the safety ofpatients service users shareholders and staff

    Report any incidents or concerns appropriately and undertakeinvestigation or action to mitigate the situation whereverpossible

    Undertake identified audits accuratelyand factually and respond accordingly to results that fall belowrequired standard

    Assist the PM in addressingany raised complaints or concerns with a thorough nonbiasedapproach

    Academic/VocationalQualifications

    Nursing Degree /Diploma

    Current registration withNMC

    Experience

    Significantpostregistration nursing experience

    Extendedpractical knowledge of Dermatology

    Experience ofdelivering treatments in dermatology setting

    Knowledge of patient database systems

    Activelyundertaking training to support care delivery

    Experience and knowledge of working in an outpatient / clinic setup
