Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel specialising Maritime Law to join a dynamic team temporarily to cover maternity leave, this role is working with a large in-house corporate. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in mentoring junior team members, handling key legal matters, and ensuring compliance within the maritime industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional with a strong background in sea freight operations and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentoring and providing guidance to two junior team members, including one trainee.

Handling legal matters pertaining to Maritime Law, with a focus on sea freight operations.

Drafting and negotiating contracts related to logistics, including sea, air, and road transportation.

Managing issues such as loss of Bill of Lading's and Committed Volume Agreements.

Addressing debt matters and customs-related ports.

Ensuring compliance with sanctions and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.Requirements:

Minimum 4+ years of experience in Maritime Law, with a strong emphasis on sea freight operations.

Proven experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.

Familiarity with logistics matters including sea, air, and road transportation.

Knowledge of debt matters and customs-related ports.

Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience in sanctions and compliance is preferred but not essential.

Strong communication and mentoring skills.

England & Wales qualified solicitor with 4+ years experience working in dry shipping matters.Additional Information:
