Job summary
As part of the Isle of Wight 0-19 Services journey towards BFI accreditation and as part of the work with the Infant Feeding Strand of the Family Hubs and Start for Life initiative, we are recruiting an Infant Feeding Team Co-ordinator.
We're looking for an Infant Feeding Team Coordinator, which is open to anyone who is registered nurse or midwife. A SCPHN qualification is not required. The post is for up to hours per week.
You will work with the Infant Feeding Lead to manage, maintain and evaluate the delivery of the breastfeeding support service within a defined geographical area and deputise for the Infant Feeding Lead as necessary. In the role, you will manage breastfeeding support caseload, triaging referrals and allocate work to colleagues in the Breastfeeding support team as well as working with the team to deliver breastfeeding training to colleagues. This includes supporting the delivery of breastfeeding health promotion and early intervention alongside support for parents to achieve successful breastfeeding with the aim to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities, working in partnership with Midwifery, Health visiting, Primary care, Isle of Wight Council and voluntary services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Clinical Team Coordinator/Infant Feeding Lead to manage, maintain and evaluate the delivery of the breastfeeding support service within a defined geographical area. Also to deputise for the Infant Feeding Lead as necessary.
To manage breastfeeding support caseload, triaging referrals and allocate work to colleagues in the Breastfeeding support team.
To support delivery of breastfeeding health promotion and early intervention alongside support for parents to achieve successful breastfeeding with the aim to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities, working in partnership with Midwifery, Health visiting, Primary care, Isle of Wight Council and voluntary services.
The Isle of Wight 0-19 service is includes Health Visiting and School Nursing. It is responsible for delivering the Healthy Child Programme to families, children and young people across the Isle of Wight. The service is delivered within the community and home settings in partnership with families, children and young people and with key partners including:
The primary aim of the service is to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for children and families.
About us
We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.
Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.
The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
