    Description
    Our Somerset based client is seeking a proactive and solution-focused individual to assume the role of Transport Manager.

    This role requires a hands-on approach to daily transport planning, aimed at boosting operational efficiency and profitability through the optimisation of the vehicle fleet and staff coordination.

    The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in liaising with various departments, including transport, workshops, sales, and management, to ensure high vehicle standards, adherence to maintenance schedules, and regulatory compliance are maintained.

    Manage daily fleet operations, including transport planning, to guarantee optimal performance and profitability.

    Work collaboratively with the transport team, workshops, sales, and management to maintain vehicle standards, maintenance, staffing needs, and regulatory compliance.

    Ensure that vehicles meet the company's standards and liaise with contractors for required services and repairs.
    Strictly adhere to driving regulations, working time directives, and all relevant company policies and legislative requirements.
    Oversee depot operations, focusing on their effectiveness, efficiency, and cleanliness.
    A solid educational foundation.
    Qualifications in transport operations (CPC National/International or equivalent).
    Demonstrated experience in managing transport or supply chain operations.
    In-depth understanding of transport regulations.
    IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    Possession of a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
