    Description
    Our client is a global manufacturing business with sites across the globe.

    One of the most respected players in their industry they have the enviable reputation for having grown consistently and steadily.

    About the position
    They are seeking an experienced Finance professional to join their small but dynamic UK team.

    The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of their UK site, with a £50mil turnover, providing strategic financial guidance to senior management, and ensuring the company's financial health and compliance with regulations.

    You will be a member of the Senior Management Team and work closely with your colleagues in both the regional and global teams.

    This role would be an excellent consideration for a Financial Controller or Manager in a larger organisation looking for a step up into a Director position, or an FD in a smaller organisation seeking more exposure and scope.

    Location
    This position will be based at their south Liverpool site.

    What will you do


    Financial Planning and Analysis:
    Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
    Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to optimise financial performance and resource allocation.
    Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.

    Financial Reporting and Compliance
    Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
    Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and tax laws.
    Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.

    Act as the Company Secretary with responsibility for keeping the board up-to-date with directors' duties under the law, including existing and new developments in corporate governance practices and legislative requirements.


    Risk Management and Internal Controls:
    Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
    Identify and mitigate financial risks through comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
    Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships to optimize financial resources.
    Oversee and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on treasury functions, including cash forecasting and debt financing.

    IT
    The Finance Director will assume responsibility for the day-to-day budget and team on site for IT.

    Strategic Leadership
    Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and business growth.
    Identify and evaluate potential business cases to support strategic long and short-term objectives.

    Who will you work with
    You will report directly to Managing Director UK & Ireland.
    You will work closely with the Regional President, Regional Finance Director, Regional Controller
    You will have responsibility for a team of 4 including a Management Accountant


    Your knowledge and skills:
    Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field
    Professional body certification is essential
    Proven experience (>3 years) in a senior finance role, preferably as a Finance Manager, Director or Controller from within a manufacturing background
    Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with a track record of driving financial performance and operational excellence.
    In-depth knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
    Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead and influence in matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders and teams effectively.
