- Collaborate with clients to review and understand Process and Instrumentation diagrams (P&I) thoroughly.
- Engage in discussions with clients to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure that the project aligns with their expectations and requirements.
- Work closely with the client to incorporate any changes or adjustments to the P&I diagrams as needed.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Gantt chart outlining project timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Regularly update the Gantt chart to reflect progress, delays, and any modifications to the project schedule.
- Communicate any deviations from the original timeline to the project team and stakeholders, along with potential solutions or mitigation strategies.
- Create a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for the required project components, specifying technical specifications, quantities, and sourcing details.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure that all materials and equipment meet the necessary standards and are sourced from reliable suppliers.
- Regularly update the BOM to accommodate any changes or revisions during the project lifecycle.
- Develop comprehensive Functional Design Specifications (FDS) based on project requirements and technical specifications.
- Clearly articulate the functionality, performance criteria, and design constraints for various components of the project.
- Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to ensure that the Functional Design Specifications align with the overall project goals.
- Coordinate and oversee the detailed design process, including layout design, adherence to civil engineering guidelines, and the creation of isometric drawings.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure that the detailed designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve design documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor and follow up on the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Communicate regularly with vendors and suppliers to track order status, resolve any issues, and ensure that deliveries meet project timelines.
- Work closely with the procurement team to address any procurement-related challenges and implement solutions.
- Assemble and organise the site installation team, ensuring that each member is properly briefed on their roles and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) to identify and mitigate potential risks during the site installation phase.
- Coordinate with the site team to ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during installation activities.
- Plan and coordinate the commissioning process, including the testing and validation of installed equipment and systems.
- Develop protocols for de-snagging, identifying and addressing any issues or deficiencies in the plant's operation.
- Collaborate with the commissioning team to ensure a smooth transition from installation to operational phase, meeting project specifications and client expectations.
- A successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's in process engineering, chemical engineering or related subject.
- An understanding of the principles and practices involved in chemical processes, unit operations, and the design of systems to produce various products.
- Proficiency in reading and amending Process and Instrumentation (P&I) diagrams is crucial. This involves the use of AutoCAD software to interpret and modify these essential engineering documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

Description
Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a specialist environmental services organisation that designs, installs, commissions, and maintains industrial wastewater treatment plants for organisations within several sectors including but not limited to, aerospace, food & beverage, pharmaceutical and chemicals.
We are looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to manage the delivery of industrial wastewater treatment plants from initial design to installation and commissioning.
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Benefits: Company car, bonus, pension contribution, private dental & medical insurance after 12 months of service, 25 days holiday + banks
Location: Cranleigh, Surrey (with 2-3 days travel per week)
Role: Full-time, Permanent
Responsibilities:
Review P&I with client:
Prepare and update Gantt chart:
Prepare technical definitions for various items to procure (Bill of Material):
Prepare Functional Design Specifications:
Co-ordinate detailed design (layout, civil engineering guidelines, isometric):
