The Faculty of Education is looking to recruit a part-time18.5 hours (0.5FTE) fixed term post-doctoral researcher to work on the ESRC funded research project 'Higher Education, States of Precarity and Conflict in the 'Global North' and 'Global South': UK, Hungary, South Africa, and Turkey'.
About the Role
The postholder will play a significant role in conducting a programme of research within the Faculty of Education developing and leading research on HE in crisis and states of conflict in at least two of the four case studies: Turkey, Hungary, UK and South Africa. Experience conducting research in the South African Higher Education context would be particularly helpful.
Responsibilities of the Role
The individual appointed will also take on a leading role in ensuring the development of high-impact writing, publications, and events stemming from this extensive ESRC research program on Higher Education and Crisis, along with associated activities in its final year. Additionally, they will oversee part of the research grant portfolio and provide research support to group leaders, research committee meetings, research activities, and case study planning. Joining an existing research group focused on higher education and crisis, they will have access to a community of researchers engaged in the project. This presents an opportunity for the appointed individual to enhance their expertise and strengthen their competencies in this exciting interdisciplinary field.
