    About the Role

    Colchester Medical Practice are looking to appoint two positions of clinical coder and QOF administrator to join our experienced and expanding Coding/QOF team. 1. Part time 20-25 hours per week working Monday to Friday. 2. Job Share Part-time 15 hours per week working Tuesday and Wednesday. When applying please state which position you are applying for and if applying for the Part time role state how many hours you wish to work between 20-25 hours.

    We operate across 5 sites, this role will be based at Castle Gardens Medical Centre. Your main duties and areas of responsibility will be:
  • Coding clinical documents accurately and within a 48 hour timescale.
  • Forwarding clinical documents to clinicians following practice protocol.
  • Carrying out clinical document follow-up actions, following practice protocol.
  • Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) - you will be responsible for allocating QOF clinical indicators, achieving targets for the practice.
  • About the Candidate

    The qualities we are looking for to fulfil this role include:

  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to work to a high standard and at a fast pace.
  • Ability to manage your own workload, but have the support of the coding/QOF team and line manager.
  • A team player, flexible and able to cover when team members are on annual leave or sick.
  • Candidates who have experience in clinical coding/QOF/EMIS Web clinical system, would be preferred, although we welcome applications from candidates with NHS or primary care experience in similar roles.
