    About the Role

    Wivenhoe surgery, a member practice of the Colte Partnership are looking to recruit a 4-6 session (per week) salaried GP with a view to partnership. This vacancy is suitable for all levels of experience (newly qualified GP included).

    The Surgery: We have a registered list size of 9060 patients of a mixed demographic. The practice has a "Good" rating with CQC and good QOF scores. The surgery is located within modern purpose built premises with on site parking. We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive team with a focus on work life balance and are fully engaged with other health providers ( physiotherapy, mental health, midwife) for delivery of services from within our premises. We have a supportive clinical team on site with permanent GPs, advanced practitioners (nurses and paramedics) and practice nurses along with a pharmacist and other clinicians provided by our PCN. The admin team are fully trained in correspondence management. Package and Benefits:
  • £10,500 - £11000 per session per annum depending on experience

    • About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications:
  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list
    • and skills, including:
  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;
  • Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.

    • About Us The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 98,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county. As well as general practice, we offer extended access appointments from a centrally organised extended access team to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and Social Prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon. We also work as three collaborative primary care networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring:
  • Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery
  • Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre & Rowhedge Medical Centre
  • Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre & Wivenhoe Medical Centre

    • There is a wide socio-economic demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
