    The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

    Hourly rate of pay:
    £16.The Haddington Area Office team covers the reception at John Muir House supporting public and colleagues coming into the building for meetings or to access Council services as well as accepting payments and supporting Contact Centre calls.

    The Customer Services Officer is responsible for ensuring all necessary policies and procedures are followed including for banking, audit and GDPR, works with Team Leads across Customer Services and Libraries to maintain adequate staff levels and line manages the team in John Muir House.

    The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of customer services and best practice, experience of working in a customer service environment and have experience of supervising staff.

    This post is open only to current employees of East Lothian Council (this includes agency/casual/locum staff who are currently undertaking work for us).

    To supervise an Area Team of staff responsible for the delivery of front line customer and/or library services.
    Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline e.g.

    PVG Membership This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
