- Be autonomous in specialized skills related to Robotic surgery including prepping and draping, port incision, robot set up, instrumentation knowledge, management of bleeding, specimen management and drain insertion.
- Actively participate in surgical procedures at the direction and/or instruction of the Consultant surgeon.
- Develop research-based practice, quality assurance in line with the Care Standards Act 2000 and clinical audit.
- The post holder will always be under the supervision and/or instruction of the consultant surgeon who has overall responsibility for the surgical care received by the patient.
- Facilitate junior members of the team with their CPD, setting goals, facilitating training opportunities and mentoring as appropriate.
- Significant experience at a Surgical Care Practitioner level assisting surgeons through robotic surgeries, with experience in abdominal and pelvic surgery preferable.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical decision making, clinical surgical skills, teaching, critical thinking, coaching, counselling, problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities for team and individual improvement, skills and knowledge development and engage staff in teaching and training.
- Eagerness to take autonomy in Robotics projects while utilizing collaboration with the Lead SCP and various consultants.
- Acting as a point of contact for Robotic surgery and services to optimize patient care.
