    Description

    Metrea Strategy is the business capability area within Metrea that specializes in research, strategic development, and engagement by seeking to understand, focus, and shape our environment and problem space.

    Research, within Strategy, does this by analyzing long-term trends, threats, opportunities, discontinuities, and asymmetries in national security.


    Research's four main goals are:
    (1) Build tools to facilitate distributed collection and analysis on our environment – enable anyone across the enterprise to contribute to and benefit from research.
    (2) Conduct high impact supporting research and tool development, equipping the end-user to leverage and contribute to supporting research.
    (3) Conduct pathfinding research to identify new risks and opportunities for the Solution Engine.
    (4) Build a people pipeline of future analysts and research leaders.

    This role is responsible for assisting in the development of tools, methodologies, and pathfinding research and analysis for Metrea.

    1) support the development of innovative analytic methodologies and conducting pathfinding research and analysis; 2) working closely with other business units in Metrea to coordinate activities and collaborate on projects; 3) supporting research projects for government sponsors; 4) assist in writing and editing research products. A strong quantitative background and ability to quickly adopt data analysis tools will be helpful in this role.

    Work with Strategy and Research staff to aid the Metrea enterprise and external clients in understanding and optimizing ways to solve "wicked problems" in national security.

    Support the execution of the Research Agenda by leading research and analysis projects.
    Develop and coordinate UK based national security research and analysis relationships and projects.

    Candidate will have a self-starter mentality, excellent communication and team-building skills, strong work ethic, a genuine willingness to learn and improve.

    This role will operate with the US-based Research team and will need to be comfortable operating autonomously for extended working periods.

    Bachelor's Degree with quantitative coursework or projects.
    5 years of work experience (post-college) in a national security-related field.
    Experience with large scale data analysis and advanced analytic tools (R, Python, SQL, etc.)
    Proficiency with MS office software suite.
    Experience supporting quantitative and qualitative research projects in national security.
    Experience managing research projects and developing and executing project plans.

    This is a UK-based position, with the expectation that the candidate be able to spend at least a few days a week (and up to full time) in our London office.

    The overall Strategy Team is based out of Metrea's Washington DC office, and we have a highly flexible work environment.

    This position can be fully in-person or hybrid depending on the candidate's experience and situation. This position will require periodic travel to DC and other Metrea offices for collaboration and research efforts.
