    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    Carrya defined caseload of patients who have a varying range of severity andcomplexity of psychological issues and psychiatric disorders and providesupport to their families and carers, as appropriate.

    Undertakethe assessment, treatment and management of patients referred to the Servicewith a varying range of severity and complexity of psychological problems andpsychiatric disorders

    Providea psychological service to patients referred from other departments, throughidentified pathways, as agreed with the Team/Service Manager.

    Collaborativelyevaluate the appropriateness of referrals from a number of sources; referralsto be accepted as resources permit.

    Carry a caseload of appropriate size, complexity,and severity, including patients whose problems may be complicated bybiological, social, familiar, environmental and educational factors, physicalill-health or bereavement and may be presented in an aggressive and chaoticmanner.

    Providepsychological therapy, where appropriate, making use of a variety ofpsychological models, as appropriate, with individuals, couples and/or groups.

    Essential

  • Experience of work with young people with gender identify issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of neurodevelopmental difficulties
  • Knowledge and experience of trauma informed assessment, formulation, and intervention.
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Post Graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
  • Post qualification training in specific, evidence-based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span
  • Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the health
  • Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
  • Desirable

  • In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:
