    Due to internal promotion, my client is now looking for a Sales Engineer / Account Manager to join their UK team.

    About The Role

    With the support of a back-office team, the Technical Sales Engineer / Account Manager will operate from a home office and be responsible for:

    • Developing relationships with existing customers (50%) and prospects (50%) both face-to-face and via Teams within markets such as Chemical, Metals, and Power.
    • Conducting customer visits across the North of the UK to gain an in-depth understanding of customer operations, challenges, and requirements.
    • Managing and growing a multimillion-pound turnover region.
    • Operating in a project-based selling capacity, understanding customers' current and future projects.
    • Effectively planning your own diary and movements. Typically, 1 night per week away from home will be required.
    • Holding initial technical discussions with Process Engineers, Plant Managers, Mechanical Engineers and, Project Managers gaining their buy-in before progressing to purchasing.
    • Working on a sales cycle from 1 month to several years depending on if it's a simple replacement or a new facility being constructed. (most projects are usually 6-12 months).
    • Handling incoming inquiries from within your region.
    • Attending exhibitions and conferences.
    • Utilising the CRM system to manage and track opportunities. (Currently, over 50 potential opportunities live in the region).
    • Securing sales of equipment from £10K to £2m (with most orders under £500K).
    About You

    It is essential that you have a minimum of 2 years of field sales experience selling process equipment or affiliated such as pumps, valves, vessels, filters, coolers, heat exchangers, or pulsation dampeners.

    Any exposure selling to industries including Chemicals, Metals, or Power would be advantageous.

    An engineering education would be highly beneficial but not essential, should the candidate possess solid experience conversing with technical decision-makers such as Process Engineers and Plant Managers.

    Other attributes:

    • Ability to read technical engineers' drawings.
    • Competency in utilising CRM systems.
    • A proactive and ambitious individual with a hunger for success.
    • Self-sufficient, with the ability to work on your own initiative.
    • Keen to build and maintain trusting relationships.
    • A full UK driving license
