    Speechmatics is a cutting-edge applied AI Research company that is breaking down cultural barriers; harnessing the power of speech.

    As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising the infrastructure and systems that underpin our cutting-edge speech technology platform.

    You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reliability, performance, and scalability, ensuring our customers receive a flawless experience every time.

    This is an opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, tackle complex challenges, and make a meaningful impact on the future of speech intelligence.

    What you'll be doing :
    Prevent alerts from happening by proactively mitigating incidents.
    Running and writing infrastructure as code tooling to manage the platforms that support our machine learning training infrastructure.
    Identifying changes to product architecture that improve reliability, availability, latency, performance and efficiency using a data driven approach.
    Work with engineers acrossSpeechmaticsto design and write product features that fit the tenets of Site Reliability Engineering.
    Documenting important changes and choices, including root cause analysis of issues.

    Dogfooding the DevOps processes shared across other teams to keep ourselves honest and incentivised to improve speed while maintaining quality.

    Capacity planning forSpeechmaticsinfrastructure


    Projects could include:
    Unifying deployment methodologies across our platforms.
    Improving the visibility of changes going into production environments.

    Writing tooling that makes it easy for engineers to get their changes from an MR through the different environments and into production.

    Migrating legacy VM based deployments to containers and Kubernetes.
    Optimise our cloud workload so that we are balancing cost, scalability and reliability.
    You'll want to join our team if you are/have:
    Passionate about designing and operating reliable distributed systems that solve real-world problems.

    You know your way around Linux and can troubleshoot a system from the command line as well as external monitoring tools.

    You love writing clean, tested system configuration and infrastructure as code.
    Interested in understanding the whole stack that supports an application - e.g. physical, networking, storage, monitoring, cloud providers.
    You document your actions so you and others can repeat them and eventually automate them.
    Can go deep into any subject when required as you love learning on the job.
    Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana or similar.
