    Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS - Stockton
    Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

    This is an exciting opportunity for a child andadolescent consultant psychiatrist to become involved in transformation andleadership within a forward looking CAMHS service.

    Durham Tees Valley Child and Adolescent Mental HealthServices work with children and young people up to the age of 18 across GettingHelp, Getting More help and neurodevelopmental assessment teams.

    Generic teamsare closely linked with LD CAMHS, Eating Disorders and Forensic CAMHS.

    The outof hours activity is supported by dedicated CAMHS crisis team, which operateson 24/7 basis and provides extended crisis input as well as home treatmentoptions as an alternative to hospital admissions.

    The Stockton CAMHs Getting More Help Teamis based at Viscount House, Falcon Court.

    The premises arewithin a business park and is easily located just off the A66 with easy accessto both the A19 and the A1.

    The post holder will haveresponsibility for the assessment and management of mental and/or behaviouralneeds of children and young people presenting with mental disorder andrequiring assessment for neurodevelopmental needs.

    There are opportunities to become a GMCregistered trainer e.g. clinical and / or educational supervisor.

    The post holder is expected tooffer mental health assessment, psychiatric opinions, diagnosis and holisticcare plans for patients up to the age of 18, referred to them in hours and whenon call.

    The Children and Young PeoplesService uses the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and has a relevant all-age Trustpolicy. The post holder should writereports for and attend relevant multiagency meetings for young people on theircaseload.

    We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby.

    We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire.

    We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

    We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public.

    Psychiatrists are essentialcontributors to the majority of our mental health teams. Our medicalstaffing shortage puts strain on services and puts strain on workforcewellbeing and costs extend beyond the financial.

    The Medical Directorate andMedical Development Team are striving to improve medical workforce recruitmentand retention in a variety of ways and the cornerstone of these efforts is TheTEWV Charter for the Medical Workforce.

    Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning

    Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training Participated in continuous professional development Participated in research or service evaluation.

    Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post Reflected on purpose of CPD undertaken Experienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation.

    MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
    Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
    MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
    Excellent knowledge in specialty Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
