    Job summary

    Work in the field of intelligence analysis is extremely important to the operations of SIA and the stakeholders which the organisations it supports. As an�Intelligence Analyst, you will deliver strategic, tactical and operational intelligence and risk products. You will proactively and reactively gather, analyse and assess information and intelligence from a variety of sources internally and externally. You will also have ownership over producing intelligence and risk products that inform, direct, drive and task corporate strategy, business planning and operational activity.

  • Data Analysis�-Undertake complex research and analysis at strategic, tactical and operational levels, linking information and intelligence to identify patterns and trends.
  • Risk Analysis���identify high risk companies, individuals, regions, patterns and trends.
  • Information Management�-�Respond to and manage information and intelligence from a variety of sources internally and externally.
  • Information Analysis- To analyse and assess information and intelligence and manage tasks and activities in line with the strategic and operational risk models.�Gather and research information and intelligence where required to produce a complete product.
  • Product Development�-�develop and produce intelligence/risk products that target resources across desk and field based compliance and interventions stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge and Expertise���To provide an understanding of intelligence and risk management, and the strategic and operational impacts on the Private Security Industry and it�s Regulatory Regime. To be proactive and take the lead for and develop expertise in, specific areas of responsibility and identify and drive forward solutions.
  • Investigation Support�-�Support live investigations and operations, ensuring all real time information and intelligence is understood and actioned.
  • Stakeholder Management�-�To act as a contact point for Key Contacts.�
  • Best Practice- Ensure procedures and practices comply with SIA Policies, the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Human Rights Act, and all relevant legislation. To utilise the techniques and methodologies identified by the National Intelligence Model.
  • Senior Analyst Support: To support the Senior Intelligence Analyst with the ongoing development of corporate support systems (ICT), the on-going development of the feedback cycle and contributing to strategic intelligence and risk products.
  • Person specification

  • Adept communication skills.�
  • Experience as an Intelligence Analyst in a law enforcement or regulatory regime, including within the principles of the National Intelligence Model.
  • Have successfully completed a nationally recognised Intelligence Analyst training programme. (NIAT or GIAT)
  • Practical experience of producing, strategic and operational intelligence/risk products.
  • Practical understanding and experience of the development and production of effective and efficient intelligence and risk products.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.�
  • Ability and experience to influence and negotiate with Key Contacts.
  • Ability and experience of working to deadlines and managing own workload.�
  • Practical understanding and experience of legislation in control and processing of information. (Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, Human Rights Act).�
  • Practical knowledge of i2 intelligence software (iBase, Analyst Notebook, Data Mapping and Data Miner).
  • It would be great if you have experience in these areas:

  • Understanding of The Private Security Act 2001.
  • Understanding of the SIA�s regulatory products.
  • IPP accredited Intelligence Analyst�
