Travel Product Manager - london, United Kingdom - Cookson Adventures
Description
About us
Cookson Adventures is going through an exciting period of growth, offering incredible opportunities to the right person.
We specialise in crafting the most bespoke experiences on the planet. We like to consider that we lead the sector in terms of unrivalled creativity, the complexity of our logistics and delivering unforgettable experiences for our clients. We count our clients as some of the world's most successful individuals, so we aim for exemplary levels of service and professionalism.
The company has well-located offices in Holland Park, close to the shops and restaurants in Westfield Shopping Centre and is only a short walk from the Central line and Overground stations. Staff are expected to be in the office three days a week.
The role
From building bespoke camps on a glacial lake to hosting parties in off-market Scottish estates and taking yachts to remote Pacific islands for world-first sub dives, Cookson Adventures has built up a collection of truly world-leading products.
While much of it is unique to us, it's also built on a trusted network of fixers, suppliers and authorities. Although those may include the likes of the world's top lodges and guides specialised in handling UHNW clients, they also include specialists outside of the travel industry, from top conservationists and film production houses to National Park organisations.
We're looking to centralise this knowledge with a newly created product manager position. This is a vital role within the business, working closely with all key decision makers to develop and build on already-existing knowledge and resources in order to deliver an industry-leading product strategy.
As such, we're looking for someone who will be the creative lead for the business with a passion for exploring beyond the conventional path, creating the most original and exciting journeys for our clients. However, they must be able to do so with a commercially aware approach, methodically cataloguing their work and communicating it effectively throughout the business.
Responsibilities
Product strategy – review, develop and own the Cookson Adventures product strategy, ensuring that it is both competitively differentiated and commercially viable.
Product development – create new and build on existing products, from shoot-the-moon and destination-specific concepts to press releases and top-level ideas, with details ranging from specific pricing to overall feasibility assessments.
Marketing and sales strategy fulfilment – work closely with the marketing and sales team to prioritise product development, managing the briefing process for online and offline content from web content to tactical direct-to-client campaigns.
Internal resource management – work closely with the Projects team to draw on internal knowledge and, where appropriate, delegate and co-ordinate research amongst the team.
Supplier relations – manage existing supplier relations and scope new opportunities to maintain and develop our CRM database of preferred operators. In doing so, you'll negotiate the likes of special rates, exclusive agreements, value adds and last-minute availability.
Training – keep the company abreast of product development and ensure internal systems are formalised, including organising all internal/external product training, feedback sessions and post-trip reports.
Analysis – As well as being at the forefront of industry developments, you should conduct internal analysis on the best-performing products and destinations to influence product strategy.
Press – plan and oversee the execution of press trips and work with the Head of Communications to assist in creating press releases and responding to journalist requests, including news stories, relevant products and pricing.
Yachting – work alongside the Head of Yachts to develop yacht-based products for industry partners, direct-to-client messaging and marketing/comms channels.
Conservation & sustainability strategy – work alongside the leadership team and operations department to build the company's conservation and sustainability strategy. Alongside this, proactively seek out stand-alone and additional experiences for our clients in conjunction with conservation organisations.
Product familiarisation & industry events – work with the Head of Projects to manage educational trips and industry event attendance across the company, including identifying key products for team members to visit and ensuring the trips are delegated fairly and operated smoothly, with all relevant media captured and post-trip reports and training organised.
