    Job introduction

    We are looking to recruit 2 Housing Options Managers to lead and manage 1 of 2 new teams in the council's Homelessness & Housing Options service, being:

    Homelessness Prevention & Relief

    Homelessness Pathways & Partnership

    This is an exciting opportunity as the council has completed a redesign of it's Homelessness & Housing Options service. The Housing Options Manager roles will have a leading role in shaping the way the services are delivered.

    As Housing Options Manager, you will lead and manage a team in delivering a high performing, customer orientated, homelessness & housing options service preventing homelessness and assessing statutory housing duties.

    You will work closely with a range of internal and external partners, maximising the opportunities for early intervention to prevent homelessness.

    Reporting to you will be a new management tier of Team Leaders who will have responsibility for running day-to-day operations and supporting staff. Your role would be strategic and have oversight of the services provided in that specific team.

    You would be part of a new leadership team for the service, working closely alongside other Housing Options Managers in delivering a shared customer journey.

    To support this, you will have a strong knowledge and understanding of relevant housing legislation, including case law and government guidance.

    You will also have extensive experience in leading and managing teams and have a track record of supporting, motivating and developing staff.

    You will have a passion and drive to improve how we work and have experience in designing and implementing new policies and procedures and other service changes.

    You will have good communication, team working and partnership working skills, as well as a good knowledge of the city and the services available.

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
