    Description

    Wokingham Borough Council and West Berkshire Council are recruiting to a range of Building Control Surveyor opportunities following a 5-year extension to continue our established Building Control partnership.

    Due to continued success, market growth and our extended Shared Service, we have opportunities for both General Level and Domestic Level Building Control Surveyors to manage portfolios of domestic and non-domestic projects, providing expert advice, supervision, and consultancy services, for a variety of projects across the Wokingham Borough and West Berkshire areas.

    As a commitment to the development of our team, new employees will be entitled to a Golden Hello payment of up to £6,000 (subject to successful completion of their probation period and length of service commitment).

    This is an excellent time to join our team as we undertake a diverse portfolio of major projects including large-scale housing developments, school developments and town centre redevelopment.

    You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of new and existing projects, receiving the support and guidance that will enable you to gain additional experience to further progress and develop your career, this includes helping you to progress to a senior level in Building control.

    Manage a portfolio of Band A and Band B development sites, including non-domestic low risk schemes (including new applications)
    Provide accurate information, advice, and professional support to businesses and/or individuals, in accordance with the inspection framework
    Positively contribute to a strong, efficient, and effective performance culture with a focus on service excellence
    Hold Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2 level
    Professional Building Control Qualification (RICS, CABE or equivalent)
    Building Control experience with working knowledge of building regulations and legislation
