- Work to procedures and processes for Accounts Receivable that support company and departmental standards and strategic directives
- Ensuring month end activities are delivered in line with the Group financial reporting calendar and supporting team leaders in reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain an excellent relationship with Operational teams and clients for the purpose of information gathering for billing, reporting and credit control.
- Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title, at your manager's discretion.
- Strive for 100% accuracy in order to ensure efficiency in the Accounts Receivable process and identify areas for improvement in processes.
- Using strong problem-solving skills, your focus will be to reduce overall debt, with a focus on the over 90 days aged debt, improve cash flow and to liaise across London Markets to come up with innovative ideas and processes to reduce aged debt and debtor day figures.
- Ability to manage workload to achieve cash in order to reduce the overall DSO position, in a fast paced environment.
- Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title, at your manager's discretion.
- Educated to at least 5 GCSE/GCE at A-C grades, including Maths
- Collections experience essential
- Billings and collections experience preferably within the insurance industry desirable
- Technical competencies in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
- Able to work to targets, be self-motivated, focused, assertive and able to work in a team
- Excellent communication skills via all appropriate media

The Accounts Receivable function is responsible for providing a first-class service to the entire UK business. The team are focused on reducing debt through credit control activities and improving our overall working capital position.
We are looking for an individual who is up for a challenge and is keen to make an impact. You will be focused on improving debt collection, you will contribute to ensuring that the UK group's aged debt is managed effectively, and DSO targets are met.
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, you`ll be working closely with the operational and finance teams as well as directly with our clients across the globe on collecting debt. The role is broad, challenging and rewarding.
The Credit Controller will require the gravitas to deal with issues, take ownership and contribute to team performance whilst understanding when to escalate to the Team leader.
Based at either our London or Leeds offices, the role will involve an element of flexible working in line with Sedgwick's wider UK policy.
