    Description

    University Housing is hiring Outreach Assistants to begin working in the Spring 2024 semester and continue working into the summer of 2024.

    To qualify for this position you must be a current or former resident of a University Housing Residence Hall (i.e., The Outreach Assistants are University Housing's first point of contact for many current and potential students and their families and are responsible for being familiar with each of 4 facilities (Cambridge Commons, Kenilworth Square Apartments, RiverView Residence Hall, and Sandburg Hall) to best represent University Housing.

    Outreach Assistants support marketing initiatives and Housing efforts by:

    Representing University Housing as guides within all 4 facilities, providing tours scheduled by students (prospective and current) and their families.

    Distributing marketing materials throughout University Housing facilities in order to increase residents' awareness of programming and resources designed for them.

    Creating and maintaining social media content to promote events and recruit prospective students.
    Provide tours of all University Housing facilities to prospective students, campus partners, or guests of the University.
    Brainstorm and create social media and web content with other Outreach Assistants in a team environment.
    Additional support and projects as assigned and needed.
    Respond to all email and phone communications promptly & professionally.
    Promptness when arriving to guide scheduled Housing tours.
    Assist in inventory maintenance and supply selection.

    Abide by all aspects of the University Housing employment agreement and meet all additional expectations as outlined in the staff manual and training materials/sessions.

    Communicate regularly with the Outreach and Communications Manager, Integrated Marketing Specialist, Graphic Artists, other Outreach Assistants about ongoing projects, as well as occasionally with Camus Ambassadors and other campus partners.

    Have a working knowledge of all four facilities of University Housing and be willing to learn more and in greater detail.

    Confidence in Windows desktop and laptop operation.
    Availability to work Outreach Special Events, including some weekends.
    Dedication to the University Housing mission.
    Be a current or former resident of University Housing.
    Experience in an office setting.
    Experience in content creation and scheduling for social media.
    Ability to operate audio/visual equipment, specifically those in use campus wide.
    Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or other video-editing software used to create content for social media, websites and presentations.
    Experience utilizing WordPress for web design.

    Ability to stand/walk for 20-30 minutes at a time and move throughout the building without the aid of elevators.
