Description
The Bid Manager is a key role within the Naval Handling UK Global Sales Team, reporting to the Director Naval Sales.
The Bid Manager should have strong communication skills in order to be able to work with, and influence, key departments and stakeholders, including providing up to date costing and pricing information to the sales team.
The role also involves the requirement to read drawings and technical documents and utilising computer software to calculate, prepare estimates and finalise bids.
0 process together with the Director Naval Sales and establish a strong communication network for bids between sales, engineering, procurement, and projects dept.
Prepare OEM bids from start to finish and schedule activities to ensure the bid is ready to send to the sales manager/customer on time.
Assist where needed on compiling bid documents in conjunction with Director Naval Sales.Process costs for material and update and maintain up to date cost data for standard products as per standard Bills of Materials (BOM's) working with the procurement team.
Supply cost data support to engineering team members during exploration of concept and design alternatives to develop lower cost solutions.
Supply cost data support for quality, guarantee, warranty and insurance claims.Co-ordinate standard methods of handling all data types within the RAS team.
Undertake training to update or improve necessary skills required to improve the company's methods and techniques of estimating.
Degree qualified with a track-record in managing sales campaigns with multiple customers
Knowledge of the marine industry in particular naval markets
Proficient with Microsoft 365
