    Job Description

    This is a great opportunity to join a remarkable law firm based in London. They are currently seeking an ambitious individual to become a part of their competition team.

    You'll be part of an ambitious practice with a clear strategy for profitable growth, where you can gain early responsibility and contribute to business development.

    Team Structure

    They are seeking a proactive Associate with extensive UK and EU competition law experience to join the Competition team. You should enjoy leading cases and driving business development ideas.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    • Significant experience in merger control and foreign direct investment rules (particularly the National Security and Investment Act)
    • Also, cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, market studies and investigations and state aid and subsidy control, including the EU Foreign Subsidy Regulation (preferred but not required)
    • Interest or experience in CMA consumer protection cases is also preferred.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Clear and precise preparation and drafting of competition documentation
    • Conducting legal research using internal and external resources
    • Assisting in the preparation of legal articles
    • Liaising with clients under partner supervision
    • Developing an informal network of internal and external contacts

    • Ability to acquire, consolidate, and apply current legal knowledge
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Excellent verbal and numerical communication skills
    • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ambitious and eager to contribute to a growing department
    • Commercial awareness and understanding of the firm's market position
    • Excellent academic and professional qualifications
