    Health Records Clerical Officer - SAR Team

    Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents.

    Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021
    We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall.

    Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

    Following our recent CQC visit the Trust was rated as outstanding for care and this has been recognised by NHS Improvement.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Health Records Access Team. Although full training will be provided, you will require an understanding of information governance and data protection principles.
    Previous Health Records experience would be advantageous. Locate all medical records, contacting various disciplines and departments as necessary
    Forward copies of medical records to correct destination securely
    Supply copy records as per GDPR and Access to Health Guidelines
    Solicitors, Police, Coroners, other health care providers and general public
    A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook.

    Working as part of our Health Records Library team, you will be a valued member of our Digital Technology Services Directorate, at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.

    Health Records Library operates 24/7, 365 days per year.

    Being flexible in approach and having an awareness of the need for confidentiality and integrity is vital in this role.

    Good standard level of education (2 GSCE's or equivalent – preferably English and Maths).
    ~ NVQ level 2 in Customer Service (or equivalent).

    Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection issues.
    ~ Able to monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others.

    Using MS Office and other Information systems/Patient Administration System (desirable) to input and update personal data.
