    Here is an opportunity to join with De La Rue Lanka Currency and Security Print (Pvt.) Ltd as a FRONT-LINE MANAGER - PRINT & PRE-PRESS.


    Job specification (in summary);

    • As leader of the shift, hold direct responsibility for all the technical aspects in print and pre-press, housekeeping, and procedures.
    • Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Front-Line Manager – Engineering, Finishing management team and Finishing Manager ensuring that machines are resourced, and objectives and deliveries are met as a site.
    • · Overall responsibility of the OTIF, print throughput as well as material availability and functionality of the pre-press function.
    • Work closely with Print Manager, Operations Manager and do appropriate planning in advance to utilise all the assets in both Print and Pre-Press in the most cost effective and efficient way to maximise output while relevant escalation is made timely when any risk or opportunities are observed.
    • Control operations and resources working closely with Planning and Process team and ensure effective management of the area.
    • Plan the department's activity in order to achieve the annual output, resource requirements, quality and cost targets required to achieve site budget and any other operational targets set.
    • Responsible for the output and performance of all assets within both print and pre-press department including the longer-term planning of these activities.
    • Work closely with the Engineering Department ensuring that both the planning of new projects is professionally executed and implemented, and the maintenance of existing plant is professionally executed and communicated.
    • Taking part in daily routine meetings, gathering the information and effective communication to the ground level is a vital requirement, continuous pulse check is necessary for the action execution and implementation.
    • Lead problem solving initiatives to address any problems encountered at Print and Pre-Press, gathering data, and using analytical tools to make effective data backed decisions in resolving issues.
    • Expected to take up activities, chair meetings and carry out actions delegated by the Operation Manager & Print Manager which are deemed necessary and within the boundaries of the high-level role.
    • Implement built in quality processes within print and pre-press, starting with FMEAs, in-process inspections, feedback and feedforward and other procedures to ensure correct quality of work moves to next process.
    • Follow the Front-Line Manager routines and ensure the direct reports follow their own standard work without authorised deviations.

    Person specification;

    • Ideally qualified to Degree / HNC standard with the ability to clearly demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, and determination to achieve results.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • In depth technical knowledge of Print, Pre-Press and Banknote Industry.
    • Broad knowledge of all site activities with a specific understanding of operation requirements.
    • Ability to lead and motivate people and work within a team environment.
    • Strong understanding of production processes and procedures, particularly with respect to safety, output, quality, security, and housekeeping.
    • Understanding of and the ability to communicate World Class Manufacturing techniques including SMED, 5S, VSM, KANBAN, KAIZAN.
    • Knowledge and experience of the application and interpretation of key operational performance metrics including OEE.
    • Knowledge and experience regarding the application of structured problem-solving methods.
    • Logical and progressive career development and a proven track record within the Operations environment.
    • Understanding of site policies, rules and regulations including collective agreements and HR policies and procedures.
    • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
