    Description

    An exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven clinical research nurse has arisen to work within the adult cardiac surgery & perioperative medicine research group based at the St.

    Bartholomew's Hospital.

    If you have been working in cardiac surgery and/or critical care and you are interested in embarking a clinical research career, we would love to hear from you.

    Comprehensive research training and an induction program will be provided.

    The team will also provide a tailored, individual personal development plan with support for further training and opportunities for developing.

    The successful applicant will be mainly working on the DOAC versus Warfarin in Post Operative Atrial Fibrillation (POAF) study where patients developing POAF following CABG surgery and prescribed warfarin or a DOAC will be studied.

    Patients will be followed-up at 6 weeks and at 3 months post-surgery.

    In addition, the successful applicant will be committed to evidence-based practice and will be involved in the day to day management of trials, including patient recruitment, data collection, research protocol development, data quality assurance and liaison with the clinicians responsible for patient care.

    You will be expected to show initiative and autonomy in the running of the clinical trials. Bartholomew's Hospital.

    oPossession of / or can demonstrate equivalence to an undergraduate degree in Nursing, Science or a Health related discipline

    oExperience in Cardiac Surgery and/or Perioperative Medicine
    oBroad knowledge and experience of Cardiac Surgery, Perioperative Medicine and nursing practice within an acute hospital environment

    oKnowledge and experience of Research Governance, EU Clinical Trials Directive, Directive 93/42/EEC on medical devices (EU MDD) and Good Clinical Practice
    oKnowledge of Trials Research Management Software e.g. oAbility to prioritise, meet tight deadlines and work independently on a number of projects
    Microsoft office Suite

    oWillingness to work flexible hours on occasion
    oEnthusiasm for and desire to embed research in clinical practice
    oEvidence of continuous personal and professional development
