    Job Title: Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

    Company: Leading Player in Sustainable Energy Solutions

    Location: Hackney Wick Office, with flexibility to work remotely 2 times a week

    Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 per annum

    Role Overview: They are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their team as a specialist in district heating. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and optimisation of heat networks across multiple city centre schemes. This role offers the opportunity for rapid professional growth, with the potential to evolve into a senior engineering position within a couple of years.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with project teams to design, model, and optimize district heating systems for eight city centre schemes.
    • Conduct energy and technology modelling to assess the performance and efficiency of heat networks.
    • Utilize hydrologic modelling tools and computing software to simulate and analyse system behaviours.
    • Work independently to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within district heating projects.
    • Provide formal training to team members and stakeholders on energy modelling techniques and software tools.
    • Maintain a strong focus on low-carbon technologies and sustainable design principles.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
    • At least 6 months experience in a relevant engineering role, preferably within the district heating sector.
    • Proficiency in energy and technology modelling software tools, with a demonstrated ability to learn new tools quickly.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
    • Eligibility to work in the UK.
