    This exciting role is to join a large Accounting and
    Business Advisory (ABA) team in the South East, based in our Reading office.
    The role is a Manager in our Accounting and Financial Reporting (AFR) service line. include preparation of statutory financial statements for large and medium companies,
    supporting our clients with financial reporting advice, liaising with audit and
    tax teams on financial reporting assignments. media and technology, travel, manufacturing and PE backed entities. building and maintaining client relationships. advisory services to our clients, supporting our (non-audit) clients through
    their audit process. Other areas of expertise such as acquisition
    accounting, share based payments and debt modifications would be an advantage.
    determining resource requirements and ensuring that the team has the relevant experience and skills required;
    monitoring the team's progress against budgets;

    reviewing work completed by junior members of the team, providing relevant feedback and being proactive in identifying training needs; Maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses and fulfilling any development or training requirements.

    Closely monitoring the practice management system reports, to ensure the profitable recoverability of work in progress, and billing on a timely basis.

    Participating in the recruitment process for specialist hires or graduate recruits, leading first round interviews and making recommendations to AFR Directors and Partners.

    As a line manager, manage the AFR team's appraisal process ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are in place for junior members of the team.

    You will also be required to support the overall technical training and development needs of the staff within the AFR department.

    To perform the firm's review and completion procedures, to attend the final meeting with the client and to ensure that the client subsequently receives the final accounts, management letter and adjustment to opening balances on a timely basis.

    To be involved in any other administrative departmental and office issues as deemed appropriate.
    Carry out ad hoc assignments.

    Deliver high quality service to clients, ensuring that timetables are achieved.
    Personal and professional qualities

    ACA/ACCA fully qualified, with at least three
    Experience of using accounting software.
    In depth understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
    At least 3 days present in the office each week to support colleagues face to face.
