- Develop high performance code using C++ & have the freedom to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team who are developing software tools to model the behaviour of complex optical systems including : diffraction, raytracing, polarisation and scattering effects.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to research and develop new optical modelling approaches to enhance the accuracy of the model.
- Good understanding of mathematics - including linear algebra, statistics and probability.
- Experience and interest in optics and modelling.
- Strong numerical analysis and algorithmic development skills.
- Analytical and methodical approach.
- Ability to work across groups and disciplines, and to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- Master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electronics or similar.
- 3+ years of experience working in software development.
- Strong C++ coding background.
- PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, electronics or similar.
- Working knowledge of Python or similar scripting language
- Experience with multithreading, GPU computing or multiprocessing APIs
- Basic understanding of both geometric and wave optics, including diffraction and polarisation.
- Experience with cloud computing services.
