    Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is now recruiting for Senior Clinical Advisors in our Emergency (999) Operations Centres based in Wakefield and York with course start dates from July 2024 onwards.

    Here at Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) we have hugely exciting developments and opportunities lined up over the next few years and are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to assist with these changes.

    The Senior Clinical Advisor is responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs, utilising professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software.

    This requires generalist and specialist skills as a telehealth professional to assess and deliver care to patients.
    As a Senior Clinical Advisor you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

    You will provide triage, medication advice, health information and implement care packages to a range of individuals, liaising with other agencies and healthcare providers as necessary.

    Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust geographically covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, from isolated moors and dales to urban areas, coastline and inner cities.

    We serve a population of over five million people across Yorkshire and the Humber and strive to ensure that patients receive the right response to their care needs as quickly as possible, wherever they live.

    We employ more than 7,100 staff, who together with over 1,300 volunteers, enable us to provide a vital 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, emergency and healthcare service.

    To be successful in this role you should be a registered professional (for example, a registered Nurse or Paramedic) and have experience of undertaking clinical assessment within an acute or primary care setting.


    Please note:
    the training and mentorship period is full time.
    Knowledge and competence in keyboard and IT skills to access databases and varying computer software programmes.

    Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in acute or primary care settings with experience of clinical assessment.
    Experience of telephone triage
