    Description

    Job purpose: The procurement manager will lead an integrated supply chain / procurement team and co-ordinate all supply chain engagement with our key customers and suppliers to maximise customer service and operating performance.

    • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy for the Project/ team assigned to
    • Ensure on time delivery of goods, materials and services to Project or requesting team
    • Communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
    • Lead competitions and review queries from potential suppliers
    • Lead the horizon scanning of potential suppliers in line with the business' requirements/ pipeline
    • Manage and report the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
    • Implement spend/supply assessments, consolidation review and sourcing analyses to ensure best practice
    • Negotiate commercial agreements and contracting models with key suppliers in line with the group procurement strategy
    • Develop strong relationships with new and existing key suppliers as well as other disciplines across the business
    • Manage and optimise QC standards from all suppliers liaising with technical development
    • Develop a contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable
    • Develop robust sales demand forecasting tools and practices working closely with cross-functional teams
    • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement

    Manage and continually develop team

    Qualifications

    • Experience of working in a Procurement team, at manage / supervisor level, preferably within heavy industries, marine, manufacturing or construction
    • Awareness of Defence contracting (ITAR, EAR, DEF-Cons and DEF-Stands)
    • Familiarity with Import/ Export regulations
    • Relevant Business, Manufacturing or Engineering Degree or proof of relevant experience
    • CIPS Qualifications or working towards
    • Knowledge of different types of contracts including any law / contract background
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Previous experience of using an ERP system
    • Knowledge of the local Supply Chain
    • Experience of dealing with the Supplier Non-Conformance process
