    Description

    Welcome to an essential role within the NHS family under the title of Category Manager. This position plays a crucial role in the sourcing, delivery, and supply of healthcare products, services, and food across various healthcare organizations in England and Wales.

    By becoming a part of NHS Supply Chain, you actively contribute to the NHS's mission of providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities involve ensuring the timely delivery of necessary products and services, both currently and in the future.

    Opportunities for this role are available in Leeds and Chester.

    Key Responsibilities of the Sourcing Manager:

    • Overseeing all contracting activities to ensure timely delivery in adherence to procurement regulations.
    • Collaborating with internal teams like procurement, clinical, and project management, as well as external stakeholders, to create and manage frameworks for a diverse range of medical products.
    • Utilizing procurement expertise and stakeholder management skills to support category and sourcing strategies for NHS Supply Chain.

    Day-to-day tasks of the Sourcing Manager:

    • Managing the end-to-end process of tenders for specific product categories.
    • Understanding sourcing and tendering processes between NHS Supply Chain and relevant stakeholders.
    • Working closely with trading buyers and the clinical team to develop effective category strategies.
    • Gaining insights into clinical practices influencing customer demand.
    • Ensuring contract implementation aligns with legal guidelines and frameworks.

    The ideal Sourcing Manager should showcase:

    • Effective stakeholder management abilities.
    • Proficiency in e-procurement systems.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Demonstrable experience in public procurement and sourcing.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with defined SLAs.

    Compensation & Benefits for Sourcing Manager:

    • Salary Range: £43,520 - £51,200
    • Annual Bonus Potential: 10%
    • Flexible Benefits Allowance: 4%
    • Employer Pension Contribution: 12%
    • Hybrid working model with 1-2 days in the office per week.
