    Description
    My client, a US-headquartered global law firm, is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join them for a 12 month contract.

    A strong understanding of the legal market is essential, as you will be responsible for the execution of the firm's BD plans and strategies for the UK and Europe.

    Key responsibilties will include:
    • Supporting lawyers in the London office and globally to build, maintain and develop client relationships with current and prospective clients with their activities in and outbound from the UK & Europe
    • Driving a strategic focus on developing business across practice groups and industries with a view to developing current and prospective client relationships in the London office
    • Producing high-quality pitches
    • Overseeing and coordinating the directory/award submission processes
    • Working collaboratively with industry groups to support, drive and implement industry-related activities in the London office
    • Creating and maintaining tracking and reporting tools as necessary (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, and reports).
    • Participating in integrating lateral partners with respect to business development activities

    About you:
    • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar or related position, ideally within a law firm, professional services firm, or related industry (i.e. investment banking, etc.)
    • Experience with pitches and directories which is essential, with events experience also being highly desirable
    • Knowledge of the competitive landscape challenging major global law firms with particular focus on the UK & Europe
    • Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategic business plans
    • Experience excelling in highly matrixed work environment with ability to work across multiple business units and functional teams including across EMEA-wide offices
    • Demonstrable relationship building skills; strong communication and presentation skills
    • Sound business judgement to influence decision-making and effectively interface with executive management
    • Innovative, highly motivated and self-directed
    • Flexibility for travel when needed
