    This is a rare opportunity for a GP to join the clinical team based at our surgery on Morley Street in central Brighton working specifically with those experiencing homelessness. Arch Healthcare is a special kind of GP surgery which actively seeks out opportunities to support the most vulnerable people in the city. The environment is warm, welcoming and supportive to staff and patients alike. We have 1500 registered patients, many of whom are known to staff by their first name.

    We are looking for an outstanding GP who shares our vision and values and is motivated to tackle the problem of health inequality in our city. Our ideal candidate will combine excellent clinical skills with a genuine passion for meeting the needs of our patients.

    This role will consist mainly of clinics within the surgery, but will also involve contribution to clinical workflow and support to Archs broader services.

    Arch Health CIC exists to deliver excellenthealthcare for people who are experiencing homelessness in Brighton & Hove,contribute to improving the quality of homeless healthcare in our locality andinfluence the quality of homeless healthcare across the UK. Since 2017 we havebeen delivering high quality specialist clinical care to people in housingcrisis with the service being rated outstanding in all 5 areas of a CQCinspection in January 2019.

    We are a SystmOne practice on an APMS contract. We perform well inCQC, LCS and IIF, are embedded in the local primary care and voluntary sectorcommunities, and are an active member of a thriving PCN.

    Our patients are largely people currentlyexperiencing homelessness. This includes people sleeping on the streets, livingin emergency or supported accommodation or sofa surfing. We also care forpeople who have recently experienced homelessness as well as members of thetravelling communities. Many of our patients have a combination of physical,mental or substance misuse conditions and thus require specialist primary careand attention which we endeavour to provide with every interaction.

    In addition to our specialist GP surgery, weprovide in-reach services to the University Hospital Sussex, outreach to thecommunity, and clinical cover for new projects such as specialist step-downcare. We are a committed and experienced team with a deep passion for improvingthe health of the poorest fastest.

    Job responsibilities

  • To provide clinical care topatients, including face-to-face and telephone clinics, workflow(correspondence, results, medication reviews, reports and other clinicaladministration), safeguarding work, outreach visits, surgery meetings andoccasional on-call.
  • To adhere to the highestpersonal and professional standards as set out by the GMC and to put individualpatient care as your priority.
  • Working with the PracticeManager and Clinical Lead to support the development, delivery and review ofthe surgery action plan including list management, patient satisfactionlevels, QOF, enhanced services and KPI targets.
  • To work closely with the surgeryteam in delivering clinical care, including attendance at practice teammeetings.
  • Be open to engage in outreachwork as required.
  • Ensure ongoing CPD to keepabreast of new clinical developments and maintain an appreciation of thecommitments and requirements of the wider clinical workforce
  • Ensure that personal mandatoryand organisationally required training is up to date
  • Ensure engagement with NHSannual appraisal, PDP production and GMC revalidation.
  • Document and report significantevents and matters relating to clinical governance to the clinical lead or sitemanager.
  • At all times to behave as aprofessional clinician and act as ambassador for Arch Health CIC

  • Experience or interest in mental health and inclusion healthcare
