Are you looking for a chance to learn new skills, and build up your CV with a year supporting the Sea Cadets' mission to launch young people for life?

We are looking for a people-focused Learning Team Coordinator to take ownership of promoting some of our training activities and supporting senior volunteers.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life-changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life.

We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society.

Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

Someone looking to gain great work experience and build up their CV
Someone who is keen to learn and take advantage of training opportunities
Someone who has an interest in marketing or training

We are looking for a people-focused Learning Team Coordinator to take ownership of promoting some of our training activities and supporting senior volunteers.

    Manage inboxes and help volunteers
Keep sections of a website up to date
Opportunities to help create engaging learning activities for cadets
Good customer service skills and who likes helping people
Some experience of social media, such as Facebook or Twitter

Having completed a placement year with Sea Cadets, I can say that it has been an incredible experience, filled with personal growth, and impactful work.

Working at MSSC has allowed me to help make a difference in the Sea Cadet experiences of both volunteers and cadets.

The year has offered me personal development opportunities, like a 'secondary placement' for two weeks with the operations team, completing my Level 2 award in skills for further learning and employment, and working towards my Day Skipper Theory.
