- Be the point of contact for various Utility companies/private contractors/internal agents/event organisers

- Working alongside the team to operate the Dorset Council Permit Scheme for Roads & Street Works
- Ensuring compliance with highway legislation and Codes of Practice.

- Have excellent communication skills as this role will involve regular liaison with stakeholders and works promoters to discuss and negotiate communication associated with proposed works/activities.
- Be a confident decision maker and negotiator to work through challenging situations as part of the team and on your own initiative.
- Familiarity or experience of working with legislation related to highways and traffic management such as the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Traffic Management Act 2004 and the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 and good geographical knowledge of Dorset is desirable.
