    Description

    The VP of Finance - EMEA will be the perfect combination of strategic and hands on leader, responsible to oversee, plan and direct the accounting and finance operations at all SH Hotels inn our EMEA region.

    This position will implement and maintain effective tools and analysis to drive strong financial performance and safeguard the company's various assets.

    This position provides financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of finance department initiatives and standard operating procedures while maximizing the return on investment.

    Financial Leadership
    Function as a strategic business partner to the CFO, VP Finance and SVP/Area MD and Regional Team.

    Leverage strong financial expertise and business acumen to influence the strategic direction of the operations, identify opportunities for growth, optimise the allocation of financial resources, and drive business results.

    Advise the SLT on existing and evolving business/financial issues and protect and strengthen the competitive advantage by supporting sound business and financial decision making.

    Effectively lead the execution of finance and accounting responsibilities for the region including overseeing the preparation of the annual business plans and operating budgets, forecasts, internal controls, financial analysis, cash management, balance sheet reconciliation, financial reporting, P&L accuracy, capital expenditure budget, etc.

    Educate property teams on key financial processes.
    Help enhance the team's business skills. Use financial analysis and market information to anticipate needs, identify business/financial issues, and recommend actions to maximise financial return. Identify opportunities to create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change through calculated risk taking.

    Building Relationships/Owner Relations - In partnership with the SVP, develop a trusting and effective business partnership with the property owners by understanding the management contract, deal structure, and the owner's ROI expectations.

    Provide valuable information to owners and the regional team, give meaning or context to the financial results, and demonstrate a solid understanding of cash flow and owner priorities.

    Pull in resources as necessary to help to resolve owner relations/contract issues.
    Regular dialogue and presentations to owner's representatives on actual and forecasted financial results

    Previously held multi-site responsibility across hotels, with experience of remote team management;
    At least 10 years relevant working experience
    Degree in accountancy, with further internationally recognised qualifications
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong analytical abilities, with experience presenting to Board or senior leadership
    Possess strong financial and tax planning skill sets;
    Proficiency in one or more back-office and front office systems is recommended.
    Must be able to clearly convey information and ideas including complex or technical issues, orally and in writing.
