- Managing a team of purchasing professionals, providing effective leadership, supporting and coaching team members personal development through conducting 1-2-1, career discussions and end of year reviews.
- Overall purchasing responsibility for specified contracts, including budget creation and control.
- Lead the creation of the annual procurement strategy to deliver the client and TVS requirements relating to sourcing, aligning the team's objectives to deliver the output. Ensure all strategies align with quality and supply chain requirements.
- Ensure effective implementation of supplier management process to improve service levels from suppliers and identify opportunities to reduce the total cost to serve.
- Produce monthly management reporting identifying opportunities and risks along with the mitigations to be put in place.
- Lead and provide support to strategic negotiations- implementing best in class methodology.
- Ensure effective stakeholder management across all pillars including suppliers, customers and internally in the business.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify process improvements- support and lead projects through to delivery with documented processes.
- Lead/ present/ attend stakeholder meetings, providing subject matter expert input.
- Provide strategic input to sustainability and resilience projects.
- Provide support to new business requirements across the business, where required.
- Continue to manage package of work on day to day to basis
- Significant experience in a Purchasing environment preferably with demonstrable experience in team leadership.
- Ideally educated to HND / Degree Level Qualification in relevant subject, MCIPS qualified or working towards, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong leader of people.
- Professional and ethical in approach.
- Proven ability to persuade, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective communicator at all levels across all media.
- Good understanding of supply chain management and procurement, including best practise purchasing and sourcing tools and techniques.
- MS Office- particularly strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and able to analyse data.
- Willingness to travel.
