    Clinical Specialist Practitioner in Adult Critical Care
    Band 7

    We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Critical Care Team.

    You will work within a large team of Physiotherapists led by a Consultant Physiotherapist to support the respiratory care, rehabilitation and tracheostomy weaning of a wide range of critically ill patients.

    We are a large multi-speciality hospital supporting both the local population and wider tertiary populations.

    You will have the opportunity to rotate between the General and Transplant ICU and the Neurosciences and Trauma ICU, supported by a clinical Band 8a in each Unit.

    The Critical Care Physiotherapy Team is an integral part of the wider Critical Care multi-professional team, based within the Units we cover.

    The Band 8 Team lead the ventilation weaning across the Critical Care Service.

    Alongside the other Band 7 Physiotherapists within the team, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in this area.

    The Units promote early rehabilitation including mobilisation of ventilated patients and provide and resource a splinting service and exercise prescription.

    You will have the opportunity to develop the skills to provide physiotherapy to patients in our established multi-professional post-ICU follow-up Clinic.

    You would be supported in learning new skills and gaining additional training to support the work within these large multi-speciality Intensive Care Units.

    To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients in a Perioperative bed (John Farman ICU, IDA, and Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU).

    The post holder will also be required to occasionally treat patients in a level one surgical bed.

    Supervision of staff and students

    Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
    Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses / CPD
    Substantial postgraduate experience at Band 6 level providing a broad range of experience including acute Respiratory, Surgical, Neurological, DME and MSK conditions
    Collaborating with Community and Intermediate Care Services
    Supervisory skills of Band 5 Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants and students
    Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy Team and/or MDT
    Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or students or Assistants
    Competency to participate in weekend and on-call work (to include NCCU, ITU, PICU)
    Experience at Band 7 level
    Significant participation on Evidence Based Project work
    Substantial knowledge of inpatient physiotherapy
    Knowledge of workings of Community and Primary Care, e.g.
