- Continuously monitoring security systems like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Analysing security alerts, logs, and identifying potential threats, anomalies, and vulnerabilities.
- Responding to security incidents, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating with relevant teams for resolution.
- Documenting incidents, responses, and lessons learned through detailed reports and recommendations.
- Staying updated on the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Conducting threat analysis and providing actionable intelligence to protect the organization.
- Managing regular vulnerability assessments.
- Identifying, prioritizing, and remediating security vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
- Performing risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Collaborating with IT and other departments to design and implement secure systems and processes.
- Engaging with external partners, vendors, and regulators on security matters.
- Compiling and presenting security metrics reports based on KPIs, KGIs, and technical compliance.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of security processes and tools.
- Implementing security enhancements to enhance the overall security posture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Preferred certifications such as CISSP, CySA+, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cyber security analyst or similar role.
- Experience with security tools and technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Microsoft Security suite, and endpoint protection.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
- Proficiency in conducting vulnerability assessments.
- Experience in network security, application security, and incident response.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards like SOC, PCI DSS, NIST, ISO.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
