    Description

    My client are currently going through a merger with another business operating in a similar market. As part of the integration work, there is a need to migrate one entity onto the existing Workday platform utilised by the other. As such, they are looking for a Project Manager to join them on a contract basis to lead the migration process. The right candidate will have equal experience working across both the HR and Finance elements of Workday.

    Job purpose:

    Responsible for the end-to-end implementation, associated governance, and organisational readiness of Workday HCM, Finances & Payroll. Working closely with People, Finance, and IT colleagues, responsible for project vision, objectives, and scope, solution design, delivery, and embedding.

    Key responsibilities

    • matter expert for Workday, supporting People and Finance workstreams to understand Workday design concepts and capabilities.
    • leadership and direction to the project and programme throughout the duration of requirements capture, design, build, implementation, and post launch support.
    • end-to-end planning process, approach, and guidelines, ensuring project plan is complete, fully integrated with key dependencies known.
    • strong relationships with business stakeholders, analysing current business processes in-scope for migration to Workday.
    • closely with other functional/technical leads to ensure a cohesive design and that cross-functional impacts are considered and mitigated.
    • and ensuring that the programme benefits are being enabled as part of the solution design and appropriate tracking and reporting mechanisms have been put in place.
    • organisational requirements and translate into Workday configuration work packages.
    • research new functionality/modules and provide recommendations on new features that could be used to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience.
    • to day management of key stakeholders, (including external partners) throughout the implementation and hyper-care phases of deployment.

    Key skills

    • stakeholder, relationship management and negotiating skills across several hierarchical levels in local and virtual teams.
    • interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex process or technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders.
    • critical thinking, questioning existing processes and improving the 'as is'

    Knowledge/ Previous Experience

    • knowledge and experience of Workday covering HCM, Learning, Recruitment and Financials.
    • experience of embedding new systems, ways of working and business change within a complex environment.
    • experience in transformation projects, process redesign and migrating existing systems into Workday.
    • to manage multiple and conflicting priorities with frequent changes, often at short notice
    • of managing external workstreams, negotiating scope and tracking through to delivery and sign off.
