- Supporting the hub PMO and Planning Director with resourcing and recruitment for assigned commission(s).
- Being accountable for stakeholder services performance on assigned commission(s).
- Managing and directing clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all stakeholder services matters.
- Being a trusted advisor to and building strong professional relationships with Client organisations.
- Acting as the stakeholder services subject matter expert on assigned commission(s).
- Leading and directing the stakeholder services team in the administration of all related processes including managing risks, working to achieve key objectives and escalating issues.
- Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with the Mace control centre, client requirements and key legislation.
- Providing line management to more junior resources and other staff as required.
- Utilising expertise to mentor and support the career development of junior members of the stakeholder services team.
- Innovating and aligning with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence.
- Significant experience of effective leadership across the stakeholder services functions (stakeholder management, communications, consents, interface management).
- Extensive knowledge of functional best practices, processes and current trends on significant infrastructure projects.
- Ability to manage activities with uncertainty or ambiguity, providing effective consultancy to clients and other key stakeholders to drive outcome(s).
- Significant experience of setting up effective stakeholder management, communications, consents and interface management frameworks/strategies.
- Expert knowledge of relevant methodologies, processes, tools, techniques and software.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure or construction projects, and the dependencies and interfaces within the project lifecycle.
- Deep domain knowledge of providing leadership in multiple sectors (eg transport, utilities, public sector).
- At least 10 yrs experience or equivalent as a stakeholder services leader, delivering a range of significant programmes or projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence others.
- Proven ability to articulate complex information and ideas for a non-technical audience.
- Ability to manage, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders and key decision makers (including C-suite).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to 'deep dive' into topics.
- Ability to solve challenging problems.

- Relevant university degree (e.g. Communications or Politics) or equivalent.
- Chartered (or equivalent) membership of relevant professional institution(s) e.g. Chartered Institute of Public Relations or Royal Town Planning Institute.

About the role
You will work closely with the global and hub stakeholder services directors to lead delivery of relevant functions including stakeholder management, communications, consents, and interface management to support commissions. You will provide leadership and guidance for others within the Stakeholder Centre of Excellence and the wider Mace business (e.g. other Hubs, centres of excellence) as required.
The Stakeholder Centre of Excellence provides integral support to sectors and regions, ensures standards meet demand, and is accountable for developing career pathways and providing training to people within the community, driving knowledge share and thought leadership.
