    Job summary

    The Neonatal Risk and Governance Lead will be responsible for the co-ordination of clinical governance procedures and frameworks within Neonatal Services, ensuring systems are in place to effectively manage clinical risk. The successful candidate will be required to provide leadership, guidance and expertise within the multi-professional team on clinical governance and risk management, supporting the quality and governance agenda within Neonatal Services.

    Main duties of the job

  • The post holder is responsible for the co-ordination of clinical governance procedures and frameworks within Neonatal Services ensuring systems are in place to effectively manage clinical risk.
  • The post holder will provide leadership, guidance and expertise within the multi-professional team on clinical governance and risk management.
  • This post supports the quality and governance agenda within Neonatal and wider CYP services, recognising that the two are interconnected. The post is key to ensuring that nursing and medical practice is safe, evidence based and up-to-date.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of incidents in conjunction with the Incident Business Partner from the corporate Clinical Governance team and presentation of key performance indicators including the monitoring and review of action plans and recommendations from Patient Safety Learning Events.

  • oRegistered Nurse/Midwife/AHP
  • oDegree or equivalent
  • oEvidence of CPD
  • oEvidence of teaching
  • Desirable

  • Master's Degree or equivalent Neonatal Nursing Experience
  • Previous Experience (Nature & Level)

  • oRecent experience at band 6Extensive knowledge of governance, risk management and national quality improvement processes.
