Product Manager - Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Dayshape

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description

    About us

We're an award-winning enterprise software scale-up with high ambitions for growth. We recently won the ScotlandIS Digital Tech Scale-up Business of the Year award and have previously been recognised as Scotland's fastest-growing tech company in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for three consecutive years.

Dayshape is an advanced resource management solution, incorporating AI and intelligent automation to help professional services firms optimise their workforce like never before. It's built to handle large, complex, and ever-changing requirements with ease.

Our customers include accountancy firms from the Big Four and global top 10, and Dayshape is used in more than 25 countries across four continents. Our target customers are global firms, international networks, and large national or regional organisations, if they're big enough to have the challenges that Dayshape can solve.

As a company, we live every day and we're committed to making sure our friendly and inclusive environment grows with us.

    About the role

We are looking to recruit a Technical Product Manager to join our existing Product Management Team. The successful candidate will lead the Platform and Integrations team. This is a back-end data integration team that requires a technically strong Product Manager to craft a strategy that will allow the company to scale by meeting current and future customer capacity needs. This team also provide capabilities that allow us to ingest data, and onboard customers rapidly.

Dayshape's North Star Metric is Resources Under Management, meaning the number of workers managed by our customers on the product. As the product leader you will help set and deliver on the vision and mission for this team where they will impact on the growth rate of the North Star Metric.

As the product leader of this team your major stakeholders will be internal and external. Dayshape is a single product company, so the Product Management function interfaces with almost every other team in the company including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services and Support. You'll work closely with these departments to get their input into multiple demands and product development needs. Externally, you will demonstrate empathy with our customers, leading workshops and developing a data-led approach that will help us identify what matters to them.

Externally, you will demonstrate empathy with our customers, leading workshops and developing a data-led approach that will help us identify what matters to them.

As you prioritise and plan development on an ongoing basis, you will have a critical role in undertaking the discovery work required to refine requirements and communicating the plan to stakeholders.

Visions and plans mean nothing if they aren't delivered, and you will steer that delivery, working on prioritisation and scheduling for your development team. In particular, you'll work very closely with the Tech Lead to consider the capacity, capabilities and characters of your team and how best to deliver value and estimate timescales.

    What you'll do

Provide Product Leadership for the Integrations Team:

  • Identify and develop SMART business objectives for the team that will:
  • Increase and/or protect North Star Metric (NSM).
  • Increase rate of change of NSM.
  • Improve overall customer satisfaction with services/features provided by the team.
  • Develop and execute a vision for the team.
  • Develop and prioritise the backlog to align with roadmap prioritisation and strategic direction.
  • Define and deliver a roadmap for the team.
  • Own the full feature lifecycle:

  • Discover
  • Using your market and customer research skills, you will uncover pain points and points of friction to be solved which provide value for the customer and the business.
  • Build
  • You will work with a cross functional team to build solutions to stakeholder problems that will add value for customers and Dayshape.
  • You will prioritise and select appropriate features to build based on company objectives and an analysis of mitigating the following risks: Value, Usability, Feasibility, Business
  • Launch
  • You will be the driving force behind the launch and enablement of each feature, ensuring that all key stakeholders are made aware of and enabled to use, market, sell, and install the new feature.
  • You will be able to speak to the main personas within the market segment about Dayshape, our positioning, and how we bring value to our customers.
  • Lead the 'hearts and minds' initiatives with our customers and how they interact with our product.
  • Represent our Product and our approach to developing the product through suitable public speaking events.
  • Measure
  • Based on the expected outcomes outlined during the ideation phase, you will measure the impact of the feature and assess its success and any required changes.
  • Maintain
  • You will use product telemetry or other customer insights and feedback to understand the efficacy and relevance of your feature to iterate or improve it.
  • Retire
  • You will maintain a portfolio of features which will need to be assessed against various stages of their lifecycle ( KANO) with appropriate action taken at each point.
  • About you

You will have a passion for delivering enterprise customer-focused products that improve people's working lives. You will be:

  • An experienced Technical Product Manager who has previously led product discovery and delivery for enterprise software, and has ideally worked with highly technical data teams
  • Well versed in technical concepts and understand modern data ingestion strategies and technologies
  • An exceptional communicator, able to build rapport and trust with anyone, really listening to what people mean, and getting your points across passionately but kindly
  • Highly adaptable, comfortable leading a customer call one moment, and getting into the implementation details of a specific feature the next
  • A supportive and challenging leader
  • Always thinking about the big picture, balancing product, commercial and customer needs and risks at all times
  • Able to be a champion of our product vision to our customers, to our market and within the company
  • Quick to grasp new concepts, and always looking to understand the underlying "why" in any situation
  • Great at breaking down big tasks into small chunks, and not easily overwhelmed by tricky problems
  • Comfortable discussing, and ideally have experience working with, highly technical concepts such as supportability, performance, scalability and stability
  • What you'll get

  • Salary c. £55,000-£65,000 (depending on experience)
  • At least £1,000 per year to spend on professional and personal development
  • 33 days' holiday per year (including bank holidays), increasing by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days
  • Paid four week sabbatical in your fifth anniversary year on top of your holiday entitlement
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Private healthcare and rewards through Vitality
  • Income protection and death in service cover
  • Matched 5% auto-enrolment workplace pension scheme
  • Up to 20 hours a year to participate in volunteer work
  • Access to wellbeing offerings, such as our Employee Assistance Programme and a dedicated counselling service
  • Innovation Week twice a year - a chance to experiment and work off-project
  • Weekly All Hands meeting for inspiration and over-communication
  • Time out of the working week for team socials each month, with a mix of in-person and virtual options: past events include hiking, family BBQs, board games and at-home cocktail classes
  • Genuinely nice, smart people to work with, who are excited about growing our company
  • Working Details

This is a full-time role ( hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know.

We have a preference for someone in/around Edinburgh, though we're open to the possibility of this being a remote role (as long as you're in the UK). We're making the most of hybrid working, so you won't need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to).

We don't mandate required office time, but we find that most of the team enjoy working from home 3-4 days a week, and come into our office to connect with each other, make use of space, and for meetings.
