- Lead infrastructure business development and collaborate with wider UK BD teams.
- Develop leads and client relationships across sectors such as civil engineering, geotechnical, rail, highways, local authorities, and utilities.
- Focus on areas of construction, environmental monitoring (noise, dust, vibration), and geotechnical monitoring.
- Formulate strategic growth initiatives with specific clients and sectors.
- Align group services to ensure a comprehensive offering for both proactive and reactive opportunities.
- Proactively identify and engage with potential clients, manage incoming enquiries, understand client needs, and prepare work quotations.
- Oversee the transition from quote to purchase order/contract award before handing over to operations.
- Identify key decision-makers and maintain contact with potential clients to discuss monitoring requirements.
- Manage bid preparation, tenders, contract reviews, and work transfer to operations.
- Coordinate internally and externally to support tenders and quotes.
- Enhance awareness of and link together business lines to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
- Continuously improve the CRM and quoting process.
- Negotiate economic and commercial terms to close contracts.
- Maintain quote correspondence and ensure smooth handover to operations/finance.
- Utilise lead management tools (e.g., CRM) to support pipeline work generation.
- Over 10 years of sales/BD experience in infrastructure, monitoring, asset management, or inspection industries.
- Highly desirable: Experience in the rail sector, with knowledge of the rail market, client landscape, and purchasing processes.
- Desirable: Experience in specialist inspection, highways, or utilities management.
- Proficient in working with CRM systems and defined quoting processes/templates.
- Strong track record of developing client relationships and strategies.
- Understanding and utilisation of main KPIs in sales and BD activities.
- Familiarity with various commercial contracts (e.g., NEC suite).
- Experience with manual survey equipment and techniques.
- GCSEs in English, Mathematics, and Science (A-C) or equivalent.
- A-Levels or equivalent.
- Valid driving licence.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely work.
- Capable of working effectively and responsibly without close supervision.
- Proficient in working with diverse individuals both internally and externally.
- Ability to prioritise and adjust work priorities at short notice.
- Competent in working under pressure and solving problems with minimal supervision.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role.
- Background in the civil engineering/construction industry.
- Familiarity with commercial order taking, CRM tools, and quoting processes.
