    £75,000 - Corporate Tax Manager

    Department: Corporate and Business Tax (CBT)

    Reporting to: CBT Partners

    The Firm

    Our client is a well-established 25-partner practice with offices in London, St Albans, Milton Keynes, and Rickmansworth. They serve a prestigious client base throughout the UK, offering highly professional services with a strong commitment to personal attention. The client base includes numerous owner-managed businesses, partnerships, sole traders, private companies, and subsidiaries of international groups. The team also supports business owners linked to these businesses.

    The Role

    We are seeking an experienced and qualified tax adviser to join our team, with expertise in the tax affairs of companies, businesses, and their owners. This role will be based in either London or Milton Keynes, but may involve work for partners across all four offices. Our team operates as one unit across all locations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and manage relationships with a portfolio of clients in the corporate and business tax team.
    • Understand clients' issues, advise on compliance obligations, and help manage their risk and relationship with HMRC.
    • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities in collaboration with tax directors and partners.
    • Develop the wider team through technical education, soft skill development, and on-the-job training, including appraising junior members.
    • Negotiate and raise fees, manage WIP (work-in-progress) for your client portfolio.
    • Contribute to the management of the corporate and business tax department, providing input at regular management meetings.
    • Assist with training tax staff through on-the-job training and regular technical updates.
    • Handle queries from our international network and support partners in practice development, including marketing, networking, and content creation for the firm's digital presence.
    • Identify new opportunities within the client portfolio and work with the team to deliver additional services where appropriate.
    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
    • ACA and/or CTA qualified with at least five years PQE.
    • Proven ability to build excellent client relationships.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills within a team.
    • Extensive experience working with a portfolio of clients to meet annual corporation tax reporting requirements.
    • Experience dealing with complex groups and related tax challenges.
    • Broad and strong technical tax knowledge, with a focus on corporate tax.
    • Ability to work within deadlines and deliver on agreed timescales.
    • Experience identifying business development opportunities in tax clients and ideally across other service lines.
    • Proficiency in Alphatax is ideal but training can be provided.

    This role offers a varied and exciting opportunity to develop and progress within the firm. Both full-time and part-time applications will be considered.

    The Person

    The successful candidate will be a qualified CTA, ACA, or ACCA with at least 5 years post-qualification experience in a business tax department of an accountancy practice. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, and time management skills are essential.
