I have a master's degree in journalism, a diploma in instructional design and I am an advanced professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), which means I adhere to the institute's professional code of conduct in all of my work.
I have 15 years' experience designing bespoke and engaging learning and eLearning content that ensures a positive learning experience and high level of learning transfer. All learning content is written and designed to ensure learners meet the course's learning objectives.
As a technical author, I distill difficult concepts into easy-to-understand learning content for clients ranging from City & Guilds to Sainsbury's. I am able to write content for most subjects and have a track record of building strong relationships with Subject Matter Experts.
As an editor, I ensure content is well-written and free of errors. I have edited content for clients including fiction authors, businesses, education providers, publishers and training organisations. I work on a wide selection of matter ranging from social media posts to websites, promotional material, internal documents and external documents.

- Work with clients to capture their training needs - perform training needs analysis, if required.
- Scope out audience, content and learning objectives for each course.
- Draft learning outcomes with assessment and feedback strategies for each eLearning course.
- Map out screenplans for each eLearning course.
- Design storyboards.
- Provide support for the development and rollout of each eLearning course.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Create high quality, concise, original and well-written engaging educational support materials for a range of subjects up to level 3 diploma, including psychology, biology, research methods, health and social care, digital skills, accounting, early years workforce, warehousing, retail, counselling skills and safeguarding.
- Build strong working relationships with subject matter experts to develop in-depth understanding of course content, LOs and learners’ knowledge requirements.
- Utilise a range of instructional design principles to make content engaging and effective.
- Create workbooks, elearning modules and full courses, tutor guides and assessments that ensure learners meet all LOs and ACs.
- Utilise learning authoring tools including Adapt.

- Provide educational authoring services to a range of clients, including awarding organisations, colleges, employers and learning resource providers.
- Work with clients to ensure projects are completed to agreed specifications and are delivered on time, on budget.
- Perform quality control processes to ensure content meets regulatory and organisational standards and guidelines.
- Distil complex subject matter into easy-to-understand learning content.
- Proofread copy in a range of formats. Check for spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax.

- Commissioned contractors to create educational content in a variety of formats, including eBooks, iBooks and hard copy for awards, certificates and apprenticeships.
- Managed projects from inception to completion; set and managed budgets.

- Edited and proofread all learning resources to ensure they met internal guidelines, were word perfect and error free.
- Managed 68 external contractors who reviewed learning resources against regulation guidelines.
