Accounts Assistant / Yeovil / £14.55 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to provide support in the Accounts Payable function. Based in Yeovil at our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Organisation.

This role will involve assisting with the processing of accounts payable invoices and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities.

The Accounts Assistant will be primarily responsible for processing supplier invoices and collaborating closely with the Accounts Payable team, as well as other departments such as Procurement and Goods In.

Responsibilities

Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
Handling supplier invoices requiring additional actions, such as approvals, purchase order amendments, and goods booking.
Undertaking ad hoc accounts payable tasks as assigned by line management.
Adhering to established Accounts Payable procedures with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks.
Planning and prioritising activities to ensure timely completion and effective time management.
Communicating relevant Accounts Payable information within and beyond the department to facilitate coordination and support decision-making processes.
Taking ownership of and resolving routine Accounts Payable problems and inquiries independently to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ideal person

Proficiency in Excel and SAP.
Previous experience in accounts payable processing, reconciliations, and query resolution.
Ability to independently prioritise workload.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
This is a temporary assignment until October 2024 with the potential to extend, 37 hours per week, hybrid.
